    PASSING THE BATON

    The Greater Union Academy High School Alumni Association will awarded scholarships to deserving students with ties to Union Academy High School. The Legacy Scholarship supports current year’s high school graduates that will be entering college in the fall. Applicants MUST be a legacy of Union Academy High School. Award winners will receive a one-time scholarship of $1,000.00.

    The Legacy Book Scholarship will be awarded to a Legacy Scholarship recipient with a major in health science or biology in the amount of $500.00..

    The Legacy Empowerment Scholarship is a onetime award of $1,000.00 to a deserving applicant.

    Legacy Scholarship ( First time College Student)

    To be eligible to apply for a legacy scholarship the applicant must be a legacy of Union Academy, Bartow High School, Mulberry High School, Fort Meade High School, and Lake Region High School. Legacy is described as the applicant whose relatives such as parents, grandparents, or guardians must have attended or graduated from the schools listed above.

    The applicant must also:

    √ Be a graduating senior with a 2.00 GPA or higher.

    √ Submit application packet by June 1, 2026.

    o Greater Union Academy Scholarship Application

    o Two personal reference letters (One from a Teacher or Guidance Counselor and one from a community member)

    o An Essay (Not to exceed 500 words)

    o A sealed Transcript

    √ Be enrolled as a full-time student in a postsecondary community college, vocational or trade school, technical school, a state or private educational institution with at least 12 credit hours.

    √ Present proof of registration and enrollment to receive scholarship funds

    √ Identify the legacy relative from Union Academy High School

    √ Union Academy, Bartow High School, Mulberry High School, Fort Meade High School, and Lake Region High School.

    Legacy Empowerment Scholarship (Continuing Education Scholarship)

    To be eligible to apply for a Continuing Education Scholarship the applicant must be a legacy of Union Academy, Bartow High School, Mulberry High School, Fort Meade High School, and Lake Region High School. Legacy is described as the applicant whose relatives such as parents, grandparents, or guardians must have attended or graduated from the schools listed above.

    The applicant must also:

    √ Be enrolled as a full-time student in a postsecondary community college, vocational or trade school, technical school, a state or private educational institution with at least 12 credit hours.

    √ Submit application packet by June 1, 2026.

    o An Essay (Not to exceed 500 words)

    o A sealed Transcript

    √ Present proof of registration and enrollment to receive scholarship funds

    √ Identify the legacy relative from Union Academy High School

    Union Academy, Bartow High School, Mulberry High School, Fort Meade High School, and Lake Region High School

    Scholarship Value:

    A one-time Scholarships awarded of $1000.00 will be granted.
